If you just purchased your first home, here’s some tips for winterizing your home.
- Turn your Sprinkler to manual or program it to water once a month because your lawn needs about one inch of water per month. Of course, if there was a lot of rain, skip watering.
- If your system doesn’t have a rain and freeze sensor, get one installed. The sensor prevents the irrigation controller from turning on if temperatures drop below freezing.
- Before a freeze, cover the vents around the pier and beam foundation, insulate or cloth wrap your outdoor drains, outdoor faucets.
- If you have a vacant investment property, turn off water valves inside and outdoors.
